You’re probably wondering how do you even get started so that you can attract clients online. In this video, I’m going to break down how to get started so you can attract cash-paying clients using Instagram marketing. The most difficult part of the journey with attracting clients using social media marketing is getting started. And I want to break that down for you. My name is Libby Rothschild, founder of Dietitian Boss. I show dietitians all around the world how to get started and use social media marketing to create a six-figure virtual business.
Today’s topic is how to attract clients using Instagram right now. Now in order to attract cash-paying clients, I show you how to do so using Instagram through content, meaning that you’re creating content that your audience wants to see, that connects with them and gets them to reach out to you so that you can sell them virtual consults.
When you learn how to create content that your audience wants to see, you’re increasing your visibility, and that’s going to help people come to you. They have to know that you exist so that they can apply to work with you. Now the first step in your journey towards attracting clients and becoming visible is getting started. I know you already knew that. And I say it all the time on social media, and my clients say all the time when I interview them on my podcasts, and they reflect on their journey towards becoming a dietitian boss.
The first step in getting clients to know you exist is actually getting started. So once you make that commitment and you tell yourself, you hold yourself accountable and you say, “I’m going to do this,” that’s when you’re inviting the whole process to get started. You have to take action. Nothing happens if you don’t get started.
Now I know it’s difficult and you’re probably thinking that you’re scared or nervous or intimidated, and you’re not alone. There are several dietitians around the world who have struggled to get started. And that’s why I encourage you to use the hashtag Show Your Face and tag me for accountability. And when you do that, it’s going to encourage you to really put yourself out there more. And that’s going to help show and inspire your colleagues that they can get started too. Because when you’re on your journey, growing your business and attracting clients, it’s more fun and inspiring and motivating when you see your colleagues are doing it, too.
Now I know what you’re thinking. You’re alone. You’re the only person getting started, but that’s just not true. I’ve helped several students get started and they are making money now, even before they become a dietitian. Elena got started with me in my group program and made money as an intern. And then as soon as she became a dietitian, she was able to exceed her monthly goal of making 5,000 per month using Instagram marketing. She doesn’t even have a website and she been able to exceed her monthly goal. Yaa started in my program and has been able to sell meal plans as a student, and really get focused on her messaging. Marissa was able to hit her medium-term sales goal in my program and almost make back the full money of what she invested in my program just in a couple of months. And then finally, Ayten made $2,000 in 30 days as a student, by using the strategies I teach to attract clients from Instagram marketing.
Now, these students are doing it and you can do it, too. There is no reason why you can’t get started now. Whether you’re in your clinical office where you want to skip clinical, or maybe you’re not even registered yet as a dietitian, you can do this. Your colleagues are doing it.
Consistency: So in order to build, know, like, and trust among your market, among your audience, you’re going to have to show up regularly. I recommend that you post five times a week on your Instagram feed and you have stories at least six times a week, and you’re showing your face at least two of those six times per week in your stories, and at least two of those five times on your feed per week. The benefit of showing up on your feed and in your stories regularly is that you’re giving your audience the ability to know, like, and trust you, because consumers don’t want to do business with a robot. People want to do business with people and not a logo, not a brand, and not some infographic that doesn’t have a face. So you want to make sure that you let your audience know who you are and how you can help them.
Finally, the last tip, arguably the most important, is to know who you’re talking to. Now what I mean by that is who are you serving and how are you helping them? When you’re able to clarify the demographics, pains, and dreams of your ideal client, it’s a lot easier for you to connect with them. For example, demographics. What’s the age, location, and gender of your adult client. And then pains. What are their biggest struggles and what do they need help with? And what are the words that they use when they say they need help? And then finally dreams. What’s the transformation that your business is going to serve for them to change their lives? When you’re clear with this, and you can identify the demographics, pains, and dreams of your ideal client, you’re one step closer towards learning how to market effectively to that person when you show up consistently.
If you want an example of a dietitian who has done that, a past client of mine, Ryan Kipping, was able to quit her WIC job because she started her Instagram feed, prenatal nutritionist, and she was able to land a book deal because she made content for her specific ideal client, a pregnant woman who’s looking to have a feel-good pregnancy. And because she was able to increase sales and work with her clients virtually, she then decided to make a course. And then together with me, our strategy together, helped her create and launch a membership. And she exceeded her goal of enrolling over 300 members in the first two weeks. Her goal was to enroll 200 members.
And she did that because she’s really clear with who she’s talking to, the problem she’s helping them solve, and the transformation that she gives these women who are pregnant, and she’s able to do so through meal plans inside the membership and through a database that helps solve their problem with how to combat nausea, choose safe foods during pregnancy and feel amazing and maintain helpful weight during the entire trimester one through four.
So what she’s done is she’s created a really clear focused message. She markets on Instagram and sells them into her membership that she’s created based on learning what her market wants. You can do this too, dietitian boss. Ryan started from zero, just like the students that I’ve helped and all the other thousands of clients, dietitians around the world, who started from zero and are now attracting cash-paying clients by using social media marketing strategies that work.
I can’t wait to see you get started. So make sure to tag me on Show Your Face on Instagram so that I can see that you’re keeping accountable to showing up and taking action.
